About Nicola Davies and Jenni Desmond

Nicola Davies is an award-winning and prolific children’s author. She graduated in zoology and then worked for the BBC Natural History Unit. In 2017, she became the first recipient of the SLA’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Information Books. Jenni Desmond graduated with a Masters Degree in Children’s Book Illustration and her debut Red Cat Blue Cat won the Cambridgeshire Read it Again! Award in 2012. Her books have been translated into over 20 languages, and in 2015 Desmond was named Best Emerging Talent at the Junior Design Awards. In 2016 she was made a Maurice Sendak Fellow and her book The Polar Bear became a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year.
